Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A man and woman walking along Torchwood Street in Dalpark were robbed by three armed males.

The couple was walking home at around 6.20pm when they were confronted by the trio.

They were threatened with a gun and a knife and robbed of their bags, the contents of which included a laptop, cellphones, clothes, shoes and bank cards.

* Five break-ins took place.

A TV and blanket were stolen from a business in Beetle Avenue, Kenleaf, and homes along Kitzinger Avenue, Tweedy Street in Brenthurst, Ashton Street in Sonneveld and Packard Avenue in Kenleaf were burgled of various household items including TVs, laptops and jewellery.

• Saturday – An advertising trailer was stolen from the corner of Hendrik Potgieter and Van der Walt roads in Dalview.

• Sunday – A radio was stolen from a car parked at an address along Kitzinger Avenue.

The following arrests were made in Brakpan over the weekend:

• Reckless driving: 1
• Fraud: 2
• Shoplifting: 2
• Theft: 1
• Possession of drugs: 4
• Dealing in drugs: 1
• Possession of suspected stolen property: 1
