Daily crime watch

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (August 16 to 17):

Cases reported:

• Theft: 1
• Illegal immigrants: 1
• Reckless driving: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Business robbery: 1
• Hit-and-run: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Residential burglary: 1

Arrests:

• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Possession of unlicensed firearm: 1
• Fraud: 1

Business robbery:

• Truck tyres, vehicle batteries and other valubles were stolen during a robbery at a business along First Road in Vulcania.

Five robbers, two of whom were armed with guns, gained access to the premises at around 11.30pm on Wednesday and rounded up the security guards on duty.

The guards were bound and robbed of their cellphones and panic buttons.

Burglary:

• Boundary Road.

The home was burgled yesterday (Thursday).

Stolen: A laptop and two tablets.
