Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Workers at a housing development along Lower Road in Minnebron were robbed by four men.

The robbers, one of whom was armed with a gun, confronted the group at about 6.20am.

After searching the workers and tying their hands, the robbers fled with cash, bank cards,cellphones and other valuables.

• Saturday – Two break-ins took place.

A home in Krinkhout Street, Dalpark, was burgled of a TV, jewellery, shoes and a hard drive, while a TV was stolen from a residence along Stormberg Street in Leachville.

• Sunday – No priority crimes were reported at the time of publication.

The following arrests were made in Brakpan over the weekend:

• Speeding: 8
• Shoplifting: 2
• Dealing in drugs: 2
• Possession of drugs: 3
• Pointing of firearm: 1
• Drunk driving: 1
• Culpable homicide: 1
