Daily crime watch

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (October 11 to 12):

Cases reported:

• Residential burglary: 1
• Murder: 1 (Tsakane case)
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Robbery with firearm: 1
• Theft: 2
• Tampering with infrastructure: 1
• Theft from motor vehicle: 3
• Fraud: 4
• Shoplifting: 2
• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1 (Pretoria case)

Arrests:

• Speeding: 1
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Shoplifting: 2
• Theft: 1

Armed robbery:

• Two security guards on duty  along Lemmer Road in Vulcania were robbed by four men travelling in a white minibus.

The robbers confronted the pair at around 8pm last night (Thursday) and forced them into the minibus at gunpoint.

They were driven to a secluded area where they were robbed of their cellphones and uniforms.

Burglary:

• Taft Avenue.

The home was broken into on Wednesday.

Stolen: Groceries and clothes.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• On Wednesday, a spare wheel was stolen from a bakkie parked at an address along Craigholm Street in Dalview.

• Two cars were stripped of their wheels in separate incidents in Minnebron on Wednesday.

The thefts took place at addresses along Willem van Zyl and Summerson streets.
