Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:

• Friday – Five homes were burgled.

Kitchen appliances, electronics and other household items were stolen from homes along Blyde Avenue in Leachville, Athlone Avenue in Dalview, Mynhardt Avenue in Minnebron, Elizabeth Eybers Street in Dalpark and Voortrekker Road.

* Wheels were stolen from a car parked along Derby Avenue.

* A woman was robbed of her handbag by a lone robber along Airport Drive near the Mall@Carnival at about 1pm.

The bag contained cash and a cellphone.

* A Kawasaki motorbike was stolen from a residence in Hastings Avenue.

Three dogs on the premises were poisoned.

* A cellphone, laptop and other goods were stolen from a vehicle parked at an address along Germains Avenue.

• Saturday – A car battery was stolen from a vehicle parked along Queen Avenue.

• Sunday – No priority cases were reported at the time of publication.

Other cases reported:

• Thursday – A radio was stolen from a car parked at an address in Stoffberg Avenue.

* Cash was stolen during a break-in at a business in Prince George Avenue.

* A business in Olifant Street, Sallies Village, was burgled of a bicycle and other valuables.

* An iron, kettle, CD player, shoes and cash were stolen from a residence along Stoffberg Avenue.

Weekend arrests:

• Pedestrian on freeway: 6
• Possession of stolen property: 1
• Animal Protection Act: 1
• Assault GBH: 2
• Possession of false licence: 1
• Interfering with police duties: 1
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Rape: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1
