Well-known Brakpan resident Charlotte (Nanna) Cruse died on January 3 following a short illness.
She was 95 years old. Charlotte lived in the town for most of her life and will be fondly remembered for her beautiful crochet work. She regularly donated crocheted blankets and bed socks to those in need and the elderly.

Pastor Bekkie Mans from the Lighuis Church in Brenthurst described her as a caring and well-loved person who, in spite of her age, was always willing to give.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Spamers and Sharon Thatcher, nine grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. Her funeral service took place on Friday, last week.
