Daily crime watch

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (February 13 to 14):

Cases reported:

• Theft from motor vehicle: 1
• Common assault: 1
• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Theft: 5
• Speeding: 4
• Residential burglary: 3
• Shoplifting: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Extortion: 1

Arrests:

• Speeding: 1
• Shoplifting: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Theft of cable: 1

Burglary:

• Opintia Avenue, Minnebron.

The break-in took place on Tuesday.

The home was ransacked, but no valuables were stolen.

• Somerset Avenue, Dalview.

The burglary took place yesterday (Wednesday).

Stolen: Jewellery.

• Pollock Avenue, Brakpan North.

A blue Suzuki motorbike parked in a locked garage was stolen on Tuesday.

The culprits gained access through the garage roof and forced the door open.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A vehicle was stolen from Louis Leipoldt Street in Dalpark on Tuesday. No further information was provided.

Theft out of/from motor vehicle:

• On Tuesday, tyres and rims were stolen from a vehicle parked at an address along Lester Road in Brenthurst.

• A car parked along Davy Street in Minnebron was stripped of its wheels.

Tools and a battery were also stolen from the vehicle.
