According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (May 1 to 2):

• Dealing in drugs: 1

• Possession of drugs: 2
• Reckless driving: 3
• Contravention of protection order: 1
• Shoplifting: 2

Hijacking:

• The driver of a silver Mercedes-Benz was hijacked in Leachville last night (Wednesday).

A gunman confronted the victim as he pulled up at an address along Punda Maria Street at about 9.45pm.

The perpetrators were travelling in a red Volkswagen Polo.

The stolen vehicle was later recovered.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• On Tuesday, a white BMW motorbike was stolen from an address along Abercorn Avenue.

• A white Nissan (model not specified) was stolen from Carnival City yesterday.
