According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (May 6 to 7):

Cases reported:

• Hijacking: 1
• Fraud: 2
• Business burglary: 1
• Residential burglary: 1
• Theft: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1

Arrests:

• Theft: 1

Hijacking:

• Four hijackers made off with a silver Volkswagen Passat yesterday morning (Monday).

The incident took place just after midnight at an address along Rademan Street in Withok Estates.

A man believed to be the victim was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

No further information was available.

Burglary:

• Jones Avenue.

The break-in took place on Sunday.

Stolen: A bar fridge.

• Denne Road, Withok Estates (business).

The burglary occurred on Saturday.

Stolen: A laptop, tools, car batteries and other valuables.
