According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (August 7 to 8):

Cases reported:

• Speeding: 1
• Pedestrian on freeway: 22
• Common assault: 1
• Pointing of firearm: 1
• House robbery: 1
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1
• Theft: 3
• Malicious damage to property: 2
• Inquest: 1
• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Business robbery: 1

Arrests:

• Pedestrian on freeway: 22
• Speeding: 7
• Deportation: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1
• Pointing of firearm: 1

House robbery:

•  A domestic worker was held at gunpoint during a robbery at her employer’s Dalpark Extension Nine home.

The incident took place yesterday (Wednesday) at an address along Sheridan Street around 2pm.

A man armed with a gun confronted the victim in the garden as she was busy with laundry.

She was forced into the house and taken to a bathroom, where her face was covered.

This robber kept a watch over her, while two others searched the house.

They fled with household items including a TV and a gaming console, as well as the victim’s cellphone.

Business robbery:

• A business in Hendrik Potgieter Road, Dalview, was robbed by three gunmen at 11.40pm last night.

The robbers held up staff and made off with computers and cash.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A white Ford Bakkie (model not provided) was stolen from Taft Avenue yesterday.

Theft out of motor vehicle:

• A car parked at Mall@Carnival was broken into yesterday.

A bag containing cash, and a cellphone were stolen.
