Having a ball for charity

Not only did the guests come together to raise money, but they also donated clothes, toys, blankets, pet food and other items.

A Winter Charity Ball was recently held in aid of the Brakpan SPCA and other deserving beneficiaries.

The event was held at Medley House in Anzac and was the brainchild of Heleen Joubert along with Medley House owner Samantha Labuschagne.

After a successful fund-raiser for someone in need last year, they decided they would like to host an annual fund-raiser for charities or people in need.

Entertainment was provided by Samantha Leonard from The Voice SA.

Lochner Kock was the MC for the evening and The Voice SA’s Samantha Leonard provided the entertainment.

Other beneficiaries included Huis Thandi (children’s home) and Huis Charis (youth care centre) in Benoni, as well as Jandré van Coller.

Three-year-old Jandré, from Boksburg, was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Not only did the guests come together to raise money, but they also donated clothes, toys, blankets, pet food and other items.
