Accident claims one life over festive season
The festive season saw a total of 20 drivers arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
One fatal accident occurred in Brakpan over the festive season.
A male (age unknown) died in Tsakane on December 7 following a head-on collision along 12th Road.
For the period from December 1, 2019, to January 5, this was the only fatal accident reported in Brakpan.

Seven were arrested in Brakpan and another 13 were nabbed in Tsakane.
A total of 1 635 traffic fines were issued to offenders. Of these 861 were issued in Tsakane, while the others were issued in the Brakpan area.
Eight reported stolen vehicles were recovered and impounded at the Van Ryn Deep Vehicle Pound in Benoni, for safekeeping.
Six of these were recovered in Brakpan and two found in Tsakane.
