Car show rolls into the neighbourhood
The Cars@urhome proved to be a roaring success when it was held for the first time in Brakpan on August 2.
With Covid-19 putting the breaks on car shows hosted by the Just Wheels Vehicle Engine and Tractor Club to raise funds for charity, the club devised a drive-by alternative.
Now residents of Sonneveld, Sunair Park and Minnebron will be able to enjoy this rolling car show, which does not transgress any Covid-19 regulations.
On September 6, the Just Wheels cars@urhome will be visiting these suburbs.
The convoy, which consists of vintage, veteran, classic, sport and modified cars, bakkies, bikes and trikes, will arrive in Sonneveld at approximately 9.15am and cruise through the streets, collecting non-perishable foods, clothes, toys and cash for the less fortunate in Brakpan.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the Just Wheels mascot, a 1934 Dennis fire engine.

Dennis, as she is affectionately known, was bought at a council auction about 30 years ago and was in storage for more than 20 years before she was revived.
During the first Cars@urhome in Dalpark Extension One, residents of the area donated R6 600, as well as food and other goods.
The community of Sonneveld, Sunair Park and Minnebron is challenged to equal or better this.
It is important to note the cars cannot drive down all the streets and the club has requested residents in the side streets to meet the cars along the main roads.
Cash donations must be handed to the fire engine crew or money box mini only.
All other donations can be placed in any of the bakkies.
