Connection of water to new reservoir completed
Ekurhuleni MMC for Water and Sanitation Clr Tiisetso Nketle thanked all teams that worked around the clock to keep to the anticipated timeframes to finalise the connection of water.

The City of Ekurhuleni has thanked all residents and businesses in Brakpan for their patience during last week’s water supply interruption which lasted just over 35 hours.
The connection of water to the new Brakpan Reservoir has now been completed.
The construction of the Brakpan Reservoir is part of 29 reservoirs that the City has committed to build from 2016/17 to 2020/21 financial years, which will altogether add 417 mega litres of water storage translating into approximately 12-hour additional storage capacity taking the total storage limit to 48 hours.
Nketle thanked all teams that worked around the clock to keep to the anticipated timeframes to finalise the connection of water.

“We had put 3pm as our targeted time and our technicians have delivered at the exact time,” she said.
“We are grateful to our businesses, residents and other stakeholders who showed understanding and patience while work was going on.
“Together, we can truly achieve more.”
The job has been successfully completed and water is running smoothly in lower lying areas, whilst supply to high lying areas will gradually improve.
The City thanked customers for making full use of the water supplied through water tankers that were dispatched and located at various prominent places within the communities.
