Blaauw outclasses tough competition in State Mines championships
He will also be playing in the IGT Tour, where he is ranked 18th out 300 players.
Francois Blaauw Jnr plans to become a professional golf player, and if his performance at the State Mines Country Club Championships is anything to go by, then he is well on his way.
The 21-year-old finished with scores of 67 and 66 (-11) to claim the trophy on Sunday.
“It was a good tournament. The guys played well,” he said.
He managed to see off competition from Casey Jarvis and Brandon Lyden, who were second and third respectively.

“It’s a good achievement against such competition as Casey, who is the number one amateur in the country,” said Blaauw.
The club champion has been in good form lately as he recently won the Bushveld Tournament in Benoni.
“I want to play at all amateur events from now until I turn professional, hopefully in November,” he said.
He will also be playing in the IGT Tour, where he is ranked 18th out 300 players.
Blaauw plans to play the Asia Tour when he joins the professional ranks.
His favourite player is Justin Rose.
