Members of the Rotary East Rand E-Club have been hard at work collecting blankets for senior citizens before winter.

Thanks to donations from businesses and individuals, the club was able to distribute blankets to residents of the Tweedy Park Old Age Home on Saturday morning.

There were smiles all around when residents of the block of flats, as well as the houses in the complex, were handed blankets.

Some residents also received food parcels, toiletries and knitted beanies.
Resident John Jacobs (82) was delighted when it was his turn to receive the donation.
“These people are very kind and we are grateful,” he said.
