An unsuspecting couple seated in a stationary vehicle along Northdene Avenue fell victim to hijackers last Thursday at 20:20.
According to information received from Brakpan police, the man and woman were sitting in the man’s Isuzu bakkie and were about to drive off when they were confronted by two men.
One of the men went to the passenger-side window, while the other approached the driver’s side and started hitting the window with a gun.
The window shattered and the gunman repeatedly struck the driver on the head with the gun.
The couple was pulled from the bakkie and the hijackers climbed in and drove off. The stolen bakkie is valued at R570 000.
