Ekurhuleni district commissioner welcomes 118 constables

“Many applications were received but only a few were chosen to serve the community of Ekurhuleni.”

Ekurhuleni district commissioner Maj-Gen Anna Sithole recently welcomed 118 new constables from the SAPS Training College to the Ekurhuleni region.

Ekurhuleni district communications officer Capt Sekgobela said Sithole was joined by senior officers, representatives of the CPF and Clr Makgoba Pagadi at Rabie Ridge Sports Ground on August 16.

Rabie Ridge SAPS gender-based violence brigades also gave their support to the event. Capt Sibanyoni from employee health and wellness encouraged the members to take care of themselves and avoid depression.

While speaking to the constables, Sithole highlighted that being a police officer is a calling.

“Many applications were received but only a few were chosen to serve the community of Ekurhuleni,” highlighted Sithole.

She further encouraged the members not to be reluctant to attend the courses to develop themselves, to work very hard and to respect their commanders.
