Man goes missing after visit to hospital

Friends and family of a 52-year-old resident of the town are fraught with worry after he didn’t return home on Friday.

Mark Weyers left his Stoffberg Avenue residence that morning to visit the Far East Rand Hospital.

He reportedly spoke to a friend later and explained he still had to go for a scan.

According to information received from Brakpan police, he is believed to have been in the vicinity of Jan Smuts Park on Saturday morning.

Weyers is about 1.7m tall and his hair is brown or he wears it shaved. He has blue/green eyes and a brown beard and moustache.

Weyers was wearing blue jeans, a black T-shirt, a blue/black jacket and tekkies at the time of his disappearance. He was also carrying a black backpack.

A missing person’s case has been opened at the Brakpan Police Station.
