#IMadeMyMark: Meet the candidates: Ward 31

Who deserves your vote on November 1?

Uncertain about which candidates are contesting wards in Brakpan in the upcoming local government election?

Here are the candidates for Ward 31:

Simangele Sabe – DA

My name is Simangele Sabe and I am the DA Ward 31 candidate in the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE).

I am standing as a ward councillor because I believe in fairness where everyone is treated equally before the rule of law.

I love to serve the community across diverse communities from existing complexes, new residential developments and informal settlements.

I attend to address issues related to stormwater drainage, sewage overflow, road maintenance, streetlight upgrades, and the electrification of Tamboville informal settlement.

I have worked with local stakeholders in the community in driving issues such as crime prevention and making parks and green space safer for the public.

I plan to hold public meetings with local communities to provide regular feedback on all local issues. I will fiercely fight for quality service delivery and gets things done.

Ashley Rutherford – IRASA

As an independent councillor standing under the Independent Ratepayers Association of SA (IRASA), Ashley Rutherford will be able to devote 100% of her time to residents and service delivery, honestly earning the salary that is paid by the ratepayers, via the City of CoE.

We have been fed the same old story for the last 10 years and we can no longer stand idly by while our once beautiful towns fall further into decay and ruin.

It is time to get the politicians out of our towns and bring back councillors who want to make a difference.

Residents want service delivery, they don’t need excuses.

Some wonderful officials go out of their way to help the residents, as can be seen by the feedback from the officials on the Boksburg Service Delivery group on Facebook.

In a municipal election, vote for the person who will make a difference in your lives, a person who will put their residents first – the rest will follow.

Ward councillor candidates were invited to submit photographs and write-ups. Some candidates had not submitted information as requested.
