#IMadeMyMark: Brakpan residents head to the polls

Voting stations have opened and Brakpan residents have joined millions of South Africans across the country to make their mark in the local government elections today (Monday).

Thumbs up to voting. According to the IEC, voters’ hands will be sanitised on entering and exiting the voting station. When inking your thumbnail, officials will check that your hands are dry before applying the ink and you will be asked to wait a few moments before your hands will be sanitised again. This couple voted at the voting station at Hoërskool Die Anker.
Ntombi and Peter Nemotamvuni were among those who cast their vote at the Sherwood voting station in Brakpan North.
The Ekurhuleni Health District set up vaccination sites to administer Covid-19 vaccines at identified voting stations throughout the City of Ekurhuleni today. A pop-up site was situated at the Sherwood voting station.
Elize Koekemoer was happy to cast her vote. Nomakhosazana Roloti was one of the IEC officials at the Sherwood voting station.
The Sherwood voting station saw queues of eager residents ready to cast their votes.
