Street names should honour those who have contributed to the town

I think that Brakpan should reflect the multidimensional ethnicities that have over the years contributed to this once great town

Peter Bachtis from Benoni writes:

The ANC has decided to change some of the street names in Brakpan, and it is shocking, as most of them are unpronounceable.

Being part of the Rainbow Nation, I think that Brakpan should reflect the multidimensional ethnicities that have over the years contributed to this once great town

So, Prince George should become Papadolambakis Boulevard, Voortrekker Road should become Manuel Araujo Avenue and Stoffberg Avenue should become Ernest Waner Street.

That would be a really good start.

However, I have noted with some concern that many people are angry about all the changes, screaming “hands-off Brakpan”.

Ja nee, it is scandalous.
