As they were preparing to leave the area, they picked up another man who told them he would accompany the passenger to Tsakani. As they were travelling, one of the men asked the driver to stop somewhere to buy beer.

The driver headed along Athlone Avenue in Dalview when one of the men pulled out a knife and held it against the driver’s neck.

He was instructed to pull over and move to the back seat. The driver complied but managed to escape from the car.

He opened the door and jumped from the vehicle while the hijacker struggled to drive. The pair eventually drove off and the victim sought help at a petrol station. In addition to the vehicle, the victim’s wallet and two cellphones were stolen.
