Adopt-a-doll a roaring success

The home got a much-needed cash-injection from their annual campaign.

The East Rand Children’s Haven had a successful adopt-a-doll campaign this year, shooting past their goal by more than R12 000.

The home collected R42 820 in “adoption fees” for the dolls, with the highest bids amounting to R18 500, R10 000 and R2 300.

This cash injection will go to maintenance, paying bills and replacing broken or damaged furniture.

The campaign may be over for the year, but the public can still help the home by buying from or donating items to the charity shop on the premises.

The shop and a small café are on 5 Muriel Brand Street. You will find clothes and decor items, jewellery, books, DVDs, vinyl records and CDs.
