The South African team of Jordan Burnand and Ivan Verster came fourth at the Juan Carlos Tailhade Cup at Los Lagartos Country Club, Argentina.
Ekurhuleni’s Burnand and his team mate finished behind Canada, Denmark and Switzerland after shooting a joint 427 over three rounds. The first round of the competition was rained out last Thursday.
The two are still in the South American country for the Argentine Amateur Championship at the Martindale Golf Club. The tournament teed off on Wednesday and runs until Saturday.
Burnand is in Argentina after having a superb 2023 season.
He won the Border Stroke Play Championship and Verster doubled up with victories in the Limpopo Stroke Play Championship and Southern Cape Open, and both amateurs have consistently produced top five results on the local circuit in 2023.

Burnand also performed well during the GolfRSA National Squad tour to the United Kingdom in June, with his best result being a fourth-place finish in the Scottish Men’s Open Championship.
This is the first year South Africa has had players at the two events since 2019 due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the travel restrictions that followed because of the pandemic.
“Competing in Argentina represents fantastic platform for these two talented golfers to expand their experience on the international stage and we are delighted that Jordan and Ivan have been given the opportunity to test themselves against top international competitors,” said GolfRSA CEO Grant Hepburn.
The Ekurhuleni golfer will be looking to make a big impact at the Argentine Amateur Championship to cap off a top-class 2023.
