December 8
Enjoy Carols by Candlelight at the Just Wheels Club on 169 Kitzinger Avenue from 17:00. Grab something to eat and drink while you peruse the flea market stalls. There will also be children’s entertainment, pony rides and music. Visitors are encouraged to support the blood drive. Entry is free. Call 082 263 7567 for more information.

December 9
The Cro-knitters Club will hold their monthly Sip ‘n Crochet on this day at the Village Gardens in Withok from 9:30 to 14:00. You must bring your own 4.5mm hook and DK wool. Lunch can be ordered from the Village Gardens menu at your own cost. All crocheters are welcome, whether you’ve never picked up a hook or have been crocheting for decades. Interested parties can book their spot with Heather Bendeman on 083 580 4756.

• Brakpan parkrun is open every Saturday at 07:50 at the Brakpan Sports Centre (across from the library). Runners, walkers and volunteers are welcome. It is free, just bring your running tag/barcode. You run, walk or jog at your own pace.

• Die Brakpan-tak van die Vroue Landbou Unie vergader elke tweede Dinsdag van die maand om 10:00 by die Just Wheels Motorklub se klubhuis, Kitzingerlaan 169. Belangstellendes kan Elsabe Grobler by 082 891 4514 kontak.

• A second-hand clothing sale will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 08:00 to 11:30 at the NG Kerk Brakpan-Oos, corner of Boundary Road and High Street. Good-quality clothing at discount prices. Call Hester Bosch on 083 307 0649.
