Weltevreden landfill site temporarily closed
Technical problems have resulted in the closure of the local landfill site, as well as the Rooikraal site in Dawn Park.
The City of Ekurhuleni is pleading for patience from its customers as there may be waste removal service delays due to technical problems at two of its landfill sites.
The Weltevreden landfill site in Brakpan and Rooikraal (Dawn Park) are temporarily closed while the city attends to the technical problems experienced.
According to city spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, it is unknown when the challenges will be addressed but members of the public will be informed of developments regularly.
In the meantime, customers are advised to use the Platkop landfill site situated in Katlehong near the N3 highway.
