Weekend crime round-up
An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from March 8 to 10.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:
Friday – Four burglaries were reported. Homes along Civin Road in Sonneveld, Ellis Street in Sherwood Gardens and Hope Street were targeted, as well as a business in Queen Avenue.
Stolen belongings included a sound system, a gaming console, a generator, a gas bottle, TVs, shoes and other valuables.
Saturday – Jewellery, bedding and other household goods were stolen from a home along Devon Avenue in Dalview.
Sunday – A pedestrian was robbed by two men at the corner of Du Preez Street and Hospital Road in Sherwood Gardens at around 17:00.
The pair threatened the victim with a firearm and searched him. He was robbed of his own firearm (a 9mm), his cellphone and wallet containing bank cards and cash.
• A compressor, two grinders, a welding machine and a tool box were stolen from a garage on a property in 10th Street, Withok Estates.
• A business in Hastings Avenue was burgled of a computer screen.
• A motorist stranded on the roadside with a flat tyre was robbed by the occupants of a white Volkswagen Polo.
The incident took place along Rangeview Road in Dalpark at about 21:45. The victim was in the process of changing the tyre when he noticed the Polo, with two occupants, drive past and then reverse.
The passenger from the Polo got out of the car and initially offered to help the victim. The driver also got out of the car, approached the victim and pointed a gun at him.
The victim was told to lie on the ground while the gunman kept a watch over him and his accomplice searched his car. The duo fled with valuables from the car, which included a laptop, as well as R1 300 in cash.
• A residence along Queen Avenue was stripped of copper pipes, taps and wiring.
