In the heart of Leachville, a beacon of hope and change shines brightly through the Millennial Mindset Foundation, founded by Marcia Monareng, a young woman with deep roots in the community.
Her story of leaving her hometown for education and business, only to return with a fervent mission to uplift the youth and combat socio-economic challenges, is an inspiring testament to the power of determination and community spirit.
The entrepreneur and community development activist is the brilliant mind behind the award-winning agency, Millennial Mindset Media.
Last year, Millennial Mindset Media launched its non-profit organisation, Millennial Mindset Foundation, which provides a wide range of courses and training programmes designed to equip individuals with the skills they need to thrive in the digital economy.
Monareng’s vision for the foundation goes beyond immediate aid – it’s about long-term empowerment and inclusivity.
The foundation’s core mission revolves around equipping young minds with digital skills and knowledge, bridging information gaps and addressing pressing socio-economic issues such as high unemployment rates and financial struggles within households.
Foundation work isn’t just about providing assistance but fostering a sense of unity and collaboration within the community.

By offering access to resources, opportunities and unwavering support, the foundation enables community members to contribute their unique talents and experiences to collective progress.
The foundation’s initiatives are as diverse as they are impactful. Through free courses, it enhances digital literacy, personal development and essential skills. A weekly feeding scheme tackles food insecurity, ensuring families have access to nourishing meals.
Their mobile library initiative brings reading materials to doorsteps, promoting knowledge and education throughout the community.
The library provides access to books and educational resources to people of all ages but especially the youth in the community.
Additionally, they offer a safe and supportive space for children to complete their homework after school. Reflecting on their journey, the foundation has achieved remarkable milestones under Monareng’s leadership.
Over 150 households have been served with thousands of meals and food parcels distributed on a weekly basis.
Strategic partnerships with other organisations have brought financial fitness programmes and mental health awareness events to the community, enriching lives and expanding horizons.

Looking ahead, Monareng and the Millennial Mindset Foundation envision a thriving community where every young person can fulfil their potential.
Through innovative programmes, strategic alliances and a profound sense of social responsibility, they strive for equitable access to education, information and economic opportunities.
Their ultimate goal is to empower youth to lead fulfilling lives, contribute meaningfully to society and drive positive change for generations to come.
“My goal is to make a sustainable impact in the township economy. I believe that there’s a lot of untapped potential and talent in these communities.
“One of the issues is the fact that there’s not enough access to resources, knowledge and skills to thrive in this competitive economy,” said Monareng.
The foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to sponsors and partners while inviting more individuals and organisations to join.
