Brakpan detective tracks down wanted suspect
The attempted murder suspect, who is also linked to another crime, was nabbed in Boksburg.
Brakpan police recently arrested a 33-year-old man sought in connection with a shooting at a residential address in Brakpan Central.
According to Brakpan SAPS communications officer Constable Audrey Buthelezi, the man was tracked down by Detective Sergeant Lindokuhle Gumede.
“He was located while on another trial and arrested in Boksburg. He was detained at the Brakpan Police Station,” she said.
“A case of attempted murder was registered at Brakpan SAPS on January 16 after the suspect allegedly shot his friend.
“The suspect is also linked to another criminal case in Brakpan.”
Brakpan SAPS detective branch commander Colonel Eugene Scheepers applauded Gumede for the sterling work.
