The San Michele Home will hold a high tea to celebrate its 80th birthday this year. The tea will be held at 117 Middle Road in Rand Collieries. To book your spot or a table, RSVP by March 10 to Colla Bosman on 082 335 5045.

Experience the vibrant flavours and energy of the East at the Asian Market at Carnival City from 16:00 to 21:00. The Main Walkway will be a hive of activity with Asian culture, flavours and craftsmanship. Visitors can look forward to the air filled with the aromas of authentic Asian cuisine, stalls selling handcrafted items, soft drinks and sweets, and live entertainment.

Just Wheels Motorklub se opedag vind by die klubhuis, Kitzingerlaan 169, plaas vanaf 9:00 ‘n Verskeidenheid stalletjies, lekker kos en vermaak wag op besoekers. Die hoogtepunt is ‘n uitstalling van voertuie. Die toegang is gratis. Vir meer inligting skakel 082 263 7567

’n Gholfdag ten bate van Karlien Roets word by die State Mines Country Klub aangebied. Karlien is op 10 Augustus 2018 ernstig beseer toe ‘n kombuiskas op haar geval het. Daar word sedertdien na haar by haar ouerhuis omgesien waar sy 24-uur mediese sorg benodig. Fondse wat met die gholfdag ingesamel word sal hiervoor aangewend word. • The Golden Oldies Social Club meets every Thursday from 8:30 to 11:30 at 134 Gardiner Street. It is open for anyone over 55 with nothing to do. The club does various crafts, plays boardgames and is planning a breakfast outing this year. For more information, contact Ursula Edwards on 082 491 6217.

• Brakpan parkrun is open every Saturday at 07:50 at the Brakpan Sports Centre (across from the library). Runners, walkers and volunteers are welcome. It is free, bring your running tag/barcode. You run, walk or jog at your own pace.
