Brakpan among Ekurhuleni hotspots as EMPD detains 22 undocumented immigrants
Twenty-two people without valid documents were taken into custody during EMPD’s crime prevention operations across Ekurhuleni.
The Specialised Services Unit from the EMPD arrested 22 undocumented foreign nationals in crime prevention operations across the City of Ekurhuleni from June 9 to 15.
The unit members made the arrests in Brakpan, Springs, Benoni, Primrose, and Germiston.
According to the EMPD, the arrested suspects could not produce valid passports or permits, which is a contravention of South Africa’s Immigration Act.
Those arrested will soon appear in court in their respective areas.
