City acts to protect power infrastructure, urges residents to comply

Over R400 000 in fines issued as the Revenue Enhancement team, alongside the Anti-Cable Theft Unit, takes decisive action to enforce compliance and safeguard services.

The CoE’s Revenue Enhancement team, in collaboration with the Anti-Cable Theft Unit and other departments, last week took decisive action to combat lawlessness and illegal power connections.

This robust approach, carried out in Brakpan, Germiston and Benoni, saw the team issuing fines to the value of over R400 000 to both businesses and residential areas.

The city urges residents and businesses to comply with regulations and pay for services to avoid fines and ensure a sustainable future.
