One-on-one challenges set Brakpan Pool Club on ‘fire’

The challenges had cash prizes up for grabs, and took the form of 'race to 9'.

Brakpan Pool Club does more than just participate in the EGPA league and nationals. They hold one-on-one challenges with cash prizes too, and the past few weeks four of these challenges took place.

The challenge is simple: the first person to win nine games wins the cash prize. Seven players recently took on the challenge:

  • On August 25, club co-owner Shawn ‘Bigdog’ Raper took on Ian ‘Rossi’ Ross and won 9-3.
  • On August 29, Christian ‘Havoc’ Stewart took on Warren ‘The Wizard’ Esmonde-White, losing 7-9.
  • That same night, Werner ‘Werrie Peri Peri’ Boshof beat AJ ‘Silent Killer’ Engelbrecht 9-6.
  • On September 5, Shawn took on another opponent, the young Enrico Muller, who won 9-8.
