Village of Hope feeds and mentors children in Mgongo informal settlement

With Christmas approaching, Village of Hope is planning a celebration for vulnerable children. Their recent visit to Mgongo brought smiles, but continued support is needed to provide food, toiletries and essentials.

On October 14, the Village of Hope team visited the Mgongo informal settlement (Location Road), where they spent the day feeding and mentoring children in need.

The local NPO remains committed to ensuring that every child, including orphans and vulnerable children, receives not only food, but also love, support and care.

Beyond basic nutrition, there is a growing need for toiletries, and sanitary pads for girls, which the team continues to provide where possible.

With the festive season fast approaching, Village of Hope is planning an early Christmas party for its beneficiaries.

This initiative, however, can only be made possible with support from the community, businesses, and organisations willing to partner and contribute.

According to Village of Hope founder Tumie Masolane, the recent visit was met with joy and excitement from the children, whose smiles and happiness serve as a reminder of the positive impact being made in the community.

“It warms our hearts and shows that we are doing good work. Thanks to Pick n Pay Mall@Carnival for the food donations and the Mgongo CPF for always being there to support Village of Hope,” she said.

All forms of donations are welcomed and appreciated. For more information or to offer support, contact Tumie on 073 934 7409.
