Trio ties up Huntingdon resident, steals vehicle in house robbery
Three intruders overpowered a Huntingdon resident, tied him up, and fled with his Jeep and household items worth around R100 000.
Brakpan police are investigating a case of house robbery after a Huntingdon resident was robbed in his home during the early hours of October 30.
According to information received from SAPS, the victim was at his Huntingdon Avenue residence when he went to switch off his gas stove at around midnight before going to bed.
As he made his way to his bedroom, he was confronted by three men inside the house.
The trio asked the victim who else was in the home before tying his hands with electrical wire and his legs with shoelaces.
They left him in the living room while they ransacked the house. The victim’s vehicle, a blue Jeep which was parked outside the garage, was taken by the robbers.
They loaded items taken from the home including food, a generator, a backpack, bank cards, a briefcase containing documents, and other personal belongings with an estimated value of R100 000.
After they fled in the Jeep, the victim managed to untie himself and reported the incident to police.
