Brakpan police and Bold and Brave Foundation rise against GBV with ‘Enough is Enough’ protest

In solidarity with the G20 Women’s Shutdown, Brakpan police and The Bold and Brave Foundation will host an “Enough Is Enough” protest to demand action against gender-based violence.

Brakpan police and the Bold and Brave Foundation will host a protest against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) on November 21.

The event, themed “Enough Is Enough,” calls on the community to unite in support of justice, safety, and dignity for all.

Participants are encouraged to raise their voices and stand against abuse, as silence protects the abuser, not the victim.

The protest starts at 12:30 at the Brakpan Police Station.

This event is in alignment with the nationwide G20 Women’s Shutdown, organised by Women for Change, on the same day.

The shutdown calls on women and members of the LGBTQI+ community to refrain from paid and unpaid work, abstain from spending, and join a 15-minute lie-down at noon as a symbolic act of protest.

The shutdown aims to draw attention to the ongoing crisis of rape and murder of women in South Africa.
