Gunmen hijack Hyundai H100, abduct both occupants

The victims were tied up before being freed in an isolated area.

A case of hijacking and kidnapping is under investigation by Brakpan SAPS after two men were ambushed in their company vehicle on December 3.

According to police information, the incident took place at around 10:15. The colleagues, travelling in a white Hyundai H100, stopped in the parking lot of Mall@Carnival.

One got out of the vehicle and made his way to a nearby store, leaving his companion in the vehicle. A man then appeared at the side where the passenger was seated.

The man showed him a firearm and instructed him to call his colleague back to the vehicle. He complied, and the colleague returned.

Another man then appeared at the driver’s side, and pointed a gun at this victim. He instructed him to get inside and drive.

They drove until they reached the Boksburg Stadium, where both victims’ heads were covered and their hands were tied.

They were then forced into another vehicle. The hijackers pushed them to the back seat and drove them to an open space, where they untied them.

They were told they would not be harmed if they did not look back as the hijackers drove away. The pair then walked off in search of help.
