Motorist’s jewellery stolen during armed robbery on N17
The victim was threatened at gunpoint and forced to hand over his gold necklace, wedding ring, and bracelet.
A motorist was forced to hand over jewellery valued at thousands of rand during an armed robbery on the N17 highway near Brakpan on January 15.
Police information reveals the victim had pulled over and stopped his vehicle at around 14:30 due to a tyre puncture.
He then noticed individuals moving around his car. One man, wearing a black hoodie, pointed a firearm at him, while another, dressed in a red hoodie, searched the victim’s vehicle.
The robbers took the victim’s cellphone, and demanded his jewellery, which included a gold necklace, a gold and diamond wedding ring, and a gold bracelet.
The pair then fled in a silver Volkswagen Polo with a North West registration number.
Brakpan police are investigating a case of armed robbery.
