Robbers with a sweet tooth target Brenthurst petrol station

Two robbers fled a petrol station with money, chocolates, and an airtime machine after threatening a cashier.

A pair of robbers with an apparent sweet tooth targeted a Brenthurst petrol station on January 23, escaping with cash, an airtime machine, and a bag full of chocolates.

Police information reveals the pair, both wearing sunglasses, entered the shop on the premises at about 21:15.

One of the men requested assistance with an electricity voucher. When the cashier checked it, she informed him that the meter number was incorrect.

The two men then returned to their vehicle outside, telling the cashier they were going to fetch the correct meter number.

They returned to the store with several meter numbers. The cashier also noticed that one of the men had taken a large quantity of chocolates and placed them inside a plastic bag.

At the counter, this man instructed the cashier to open the till, telling her he was carrying “something”, suggesting he was armed with a weapon.

Fearing for her safety, the cashier opened the till. She was told to place the money into the plastic bag containing the chocolates.

One of the men then grabbed an airtime machine, and the pair fled. A business robbery docket has been opened.
