Former speaker makes comeback to Ekurhuleni council benches

Tshivhenga resigned last year to take up a position in the provincial legislature.

The City of Ekurhuleni council has welcomed back former Speaker of Council Nthabiseng Tshivhenga, who was officially sworn in last Monday as an ordinary councillor.

Tshivhenga’s return comes after her resignation last year when she left council to take up a position in the provincial legislature.

Her reappointment follows a recent vacancy created by Councillor Nkululeko Dunga, who has since been appointed as Gauteng MEC for Finance.
