Village of Hope continues fight against food insecurity

The Brakpan NPO recently supported vulnerable children and families in Mgongo with food and care, while plans for its Winter Drive gather momentum.

Brakpan NPO Village of Hope successfully conducted another outreach programme in the Mgongo informal settlement near Brakpan North on June 9, where children enjoyed a warm meal, sweet treats, and also received food items to take home.

“The outreach brought joy to many of our beneficiaries, especially during a time when some children are no longer attending school and many families continue to face daily challenges, including food insecurity,” said the NPO’s founder, Tumie Masolane.

“Through this initiative, Village of Hope once again stepped in to support orphaned and vulnerable children and families within the community.”

Village of Hope remains committed to mentoring, feeding, and supporting children through meaningful outreach programmes that bring hope and dignity to those in need.

Tumie added that preparations for their Winter Drive are still underway, with the official date and venue to be announced soon.

“The initiative aims to support children with essential winter necessities during the colder season,” she said.

Village of Hope extends sincere appreciation to the Mgongo CPF, the Village of Hope team, Pick n Pay Mall@Carnival, and Logan Naina from Rise Against Hunger, under the Inner Voice Foundation, for their continued support and contribution towards making a positive impact in the community.
