Weekend crime round-up
An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from October 6 to 8.
The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:
Friday – Tools, a generator and other valuables were stolen from a garage at a home along Lapping Street in Brenthurst.
• A home in Elbagh Street, Sonneveld was burgled of a TV and other electronics.
• An iPad and a pair of tekkies were stolen from a home along Gloucester Avenue in Dalview.
Saturday – A silver Ford Ranger bakkie was stolen from Hendrik Potgieter Road in Dalview.
• TVs, a laptop, jewellery, clothing, shoes and other household items were stolen during a break-in at a home along Germains Avenue.
• A Sallies Village family fell victim to house robbers. The intruders confronted the family in their 2nd Road home at around 13:20 and forced them to transfer money via their banking apps.
The victims were tied up and the robbers ransacked the house. A family member who arrived home during the incident was also tied up.
The robbers fled with three vehicles belonging to the family- a Ford Ranger, a Mazda 2 and a Mercedes-Benz – as well as cellphones, laptops, handbags, printers, a gas heater and other goods.
Sunday – A jet ski and a trailer were stolen from an address along Koos Vorster Avenue in Minnebron.
A Toyoto Fortuner was also stolen from the property but was found abandoned nearby.
• A home in Keurboom Avenue, Anzac was burgled of a TV and a gaming console.
