Weekend crime round-up

An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from November 3 to 5.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:

Friday – An extension cord, a lawnmower and other valuables were stolen from a garage at a residence along Oval Road in Brakpan North.

• Cash was stolen from a vehicle parked along Station Road.

• An Opel Corsa was stolen from a workshop in Lemmer Road, Maryvlei.

• Electric cables were stolen from a property along Mouton Street in Withok Estates.

Three dogs on the premises were poisoned.

Saturday – A business in Viking Road, Dalpark, was burgled of two TVs. A suspect was later arrested and the TVs were returned.

• A man was robbed of his cellphone at the corner of Stoffberg Avenue and Goods Road.

The victim was walking to a shop at around 20:00 when he was confronted by two men and threatened with a firearm. The victim was searched and the robbers ran off with his cellphone, valued at R13 000.

Sunday – A bicycle was stolen from a home in Swanson Street, Brakpan North.
