An elderly woman and her ill sister were among Minnebron residents recently targeted by house robbers.
Last week saw two house robberies occur in the suburb within a few days.
The first took place on January 18 at a flat along Willem van Zyl Street during the early morning hours.
According to police information, a 40-year-old man and three other occupants in the flat were terrorised by four intruders.
The victims were awakened by a loud noise downstairs at around 00:45. The door to their flat was then kicked open and a window smashed.
Two men entered and started ransacking the home, demanding cash. Two other men joined and one of the victims was threatened with a firearm.
After finding a substantial sum of money, the robbers took four cellphones belonging to the victims and fled on foot.

On January 20, a 79-year-old Davy Street resident and her sickly sister were preyed upon by three balaclava-clad robbers at about 10:45.
The woman was making a sandwich in the kitchen while her sister lay on a couch.
A man grabbed the victim in the kitchen from behind, shoved her to the living room and pushed a revolver in her mouth.
The gunman’s two accomplices went off to search the bedrooms but returned empty-handed. One of them tried to take a TV but was unable to unplug the device so left it.
The robbers then took a cellphone belonging to the victim’s granddaughter and fled the home through the open living room door.
They had removed the front gate from the rail and fled in a white Toyota Corolla. Brakpan SAPS are investigating both cases.
