“The Excellence Awards are a moment to pause, recognise, and say thank you for the countless hours spent on the ground, behind the desks, in the charge offices, and out in the field combating crime,” said Brakpan SAPS social crime prevention and communications officer Constable Audrey Buthelezi.

With participants from the 39 police stations in Ekurhuleni, all competing in 32 categories, Brakpan SAPS walked away with numerous accolades.

“The recipients were reminded that excellence is collective – that every SAPS and PSA member is a winner with or without a trophy,” said Buthelezi.

“The members were told that true policing excellence is not an act. It is a daily habit of integrity, discipline, and compassion.

“Excellence is how the SAPS builds public trust. Every professional interaction, every swift response, and every honest investigation reminds our communities that SAPS remains the shield of the nation.

“The Brakpan SAPS team has set the standard high. They represent not only the station but the district, and they cited that the achievements are not the finish line, but a challenge to keep shining brighter at their station and the units they serve.

“The team promises to continue serving with dignity, act with integrity, and protect with pride.”
