Lilywhites win in Kempton Park
With Brakpan Rugby Club’s Community Cup team enjoying some rest and relaxation with a bye over the weekend, it was the club’s other first team, the “Lilywhites”, who kept the club’s flag flying.

The Lilywhites, the second XV and the u-21s, travelled to the Barnard Stadium, in Kempton Park, to take on the Kempton Wolwe on Saturday, in the Assupol Super Club Series.
All the teams emerged victorious from their fixtures.
The Lilywhites won with a score line of 45-22, the second team won a close encounter 7-5 and the u-21s returned to Brakpan with a 45-0 demolition of their opponents.
Commenting on the Lilywhites’ result, Harry Nieuwenhuis, chairman of Brakpan Rugby Club, said: “Considering that this is not the Community Cup side, the win says a lot about the club.
“Our Assupol side is playing against all the normal first team sides in the Valke League and we are very proud of the guys.”
