Louw to feature at Rockmania Showdown

Everyone’s favourite occasion has arrived, as The Rock Raceway gears up for the annual midyear Rockmania Showdown.

The Brakpan venue will come alive on Saturday, July 5, when petrol heads make their way to the circuit to soak up the trackside action, with the all-in-one motoring showdown.

This Rockmania is going to be a special one, as fans of singer Nicholis Louw will be in for a double treat.

Not only will Louw be singing some of his famous songs, but he will also be racing his Legend race car on the day, together with some of South Africa’s popular drivers, like Gary Formato, Devin Robertson and Seef Fourie Jnr.

Accompanying the Legend race cars will be a full field of Outlaw V8 Sprints, that will roar around the 400m circuit together with a full oval discipline of open wheeled and saloon race cars.

The Formula N circuit cars will also keep you riveted to your seats as the saloon car drivers jostle for positions around the tricky race circuit.

With plenty of chicanes and tight corners, overtaking and passing each other can be hair-raising at the best of times, but also very entertaining.

There will be an added dose of V8 action when the Lexus V8 class entertains all who relish the brutal roars of the V8 engines.

Drifting fans will also be treated to side-by-slide tandem action, when the drifters smoke out the place as they burn rubber.

Straight-line, heads-up racing from the Street to Strip brigade will ensure all drag racing fans get their rush of adrenalin at Rockmania.

A special stunt has also been planned for the day by the Rock Raceway team, and it is guaranteed to take away your breath.

Gates open at 10am, while the event starts at 2pm.
