Swinging clubs for a cause

The format on the day was an Individual Stableford.

The funds raised by golfers helped to contribute to the research into cancer and possible cures.

The regional competitions, like the one at State Mines, determine the 100 golfers who will qualify for the finals at the Gary Player Country Club and Lost City Golf Course, at Sun City, on October 20 and 21.

The results from the Sanlam Cancer Challenge IPS are:

• Women’s Division: 1 K Hewitt 37 points, 2 B Wilson 34 points, 3 G Venter 31 points.
• Men’s results, A-Division: 1 J Marais 36 points oco, 2 J Delport 36 pts oco, 3 E Muller 35 points. B-Division: 1 D McKenzie 42 points, 2 H Landsberg 39 points, 3 M van As 37 points. C-Division: 1 A Mak 39 points oco, 2 P Botha 39 points oco, 3 E Gomes 38 points.
