SA, UK hotrods to do battle

If you happen to be a fan of two-litre hotrods then you are certainly in for a motoring treat.

On February 3, South African two-litre hotrod drivers will do battle with their counterparts from the United Kingdom when the second round of the SA vs UK two-litre Hotrods Tour takes place at Brakpan’s Rock Raceway.

The UK’s invitational team will consist of Boxer Jack (in car #331), Ian Boumont (#713), Jock Camble (#26), Keith Martin (#994), Bobby Johnson (#972), Martin Heath (#415) and Dick Hillard (#31).

The UK ‘lads’ will be going up against South Africa’s finest racing drivers, including one of the country’s top female drivers, Chantelle Lewis.

The Pretoria driver was awarded SA2 status at the World of Motorsport ZA National Championships in 2017 and won numerous events throughout the season.

With so many testosterone-fuelled competitors to drive against, Lewis has made her mark within racing circles.

The two-litre Hotrod Tour will be complemented by a full race programme of other oval track disciplines, including Formula N circuit racing.

Gates will be open from 10am, with competitors taking to the circuit for practice sessions throughout the day.

Racing proper will commence at 4pm.
